In Person Classes

  • Hatha Yoga Weekly Class

    Tuesdays, 4pm-5pm

    Portland Yoga Project, Portland, ME

    All levels

In Erin’s hatha yoga class, you can expect a sequence of standing, seated, reclining and occasional inverted postures with long holds to time to integrate breath and action.

Hatha classes do not include vinyasa and we often use a widetvariety of props, including the wall, to support our postures and for feedback.

In all of Erin’s classes, we focus on movement skills, strength-building and creative variations.

This class is open to all levels and includes optional hands-on adjusts.

Expect to explore inversions, backbends and lots of props to explore asana!

  • The Art of Adjusting: a hands on Workshop for Yoga Teachers

    Saturday, June 1

    1:30 pm to 4:30pm

    Portland Yoga Project, Portland, ME

Hands-on adjusts provide yoga teachers with an additional way to communicate as they teach. Adjusts can clarify your words, provide students with different ways to learn and develop progression in asana practice. They're helpful for many students, and hands-on adjusts require your thoughtful consideration in the context of our post-pandemic and trauma-informed era of modern yoga.

Join Erin to learn how to:

    -Obtain affirmative consent

-Develop a purpose in your hands-on assists

-Choose when and when not to adjust your students

-Understand the benefits and the limits of touch

We'll discuss and practice technique, and you'll leave with a renewed appreciation for the art of adjusting. Be part of this workshop to voice your questions, to connect with your colleagues and to gain confidence.

  • 300 Hour Teacher Training

    Beginning September 2024

    Portland Yoga Project

The 300 hour yoga teacher training at The Portland Yoga Project is a 12 month long program that provides the opportunity to expand and deepen your knowledge and experience as a yoga teacher. Participants are required to have a 200 hour training and are expected to have some experience with teaching yoga, but this training is primarily an opportunity to show up as a student—a student of yoga, your own practice, and yourself. Students will attend monthly weekend sessions that will include practice, lecture, discussion and reflection.

The primary aim of this training is to guide teachers toward skillful communication, clarity, and confidence as they evolve and develop as teachers with the understanding that becoming a skilled teacher requires skillful practice.

Reach out with your questions! We can grab a cup of tea, have a phone call or zoom. I’d love to hear if you’re interested.
